Advantages and disadvantages of holding the Olympic Games
Advantages:
Holding the Olympic Games has many advantages. A lot of different people from all around the world go to the Olympic Games to watch the competitions and to encourage their fellows. These people have to stay in hotels or apartments, go to restaurants to have their meals and so on, so the bring money to all those places. Because of that entire people, there is a cultural enrichment, where many different cultures coexist together. The Olympic Games also produce employment because a lot of people are needed to the entire different sort of competitions to take place and to attend the athletes in their Olympic Village.
Disadvantages:
Holding the Olympic Games has also many disadvantages. It costs a lot of money to build all the different sort of sport facilities which are needed to be able to take place all the sports. For example, in Beijing 2008, they spent more than 30.500 Million Euros, only in the sport facilities. Every Olympic venue has to pay also a lot of money in safety, in London 2012, the police and the army will be keeping security not only in the stadiums and places where the competitions take place, but also in the streets. There will also be, in all the enclosed places, such as the stadiums, security points, to check that no one is bringing inside danger objects.
